THE OCEANS OF TOMORROW
Our Mission
The Blue Planet team hopes to preserve the oceans and their organisms. The focal point is to contribute to the restoration of marine biodiversity, explore possibilities of more sustainable human activity, learn about aquaculture, and promote safe seafood.
Why Blue Planet?
The ocean occupies over 70% of planet Earth. It feeds us, supplies us with oxygen, and regulates the climate. However, human activity has been significantly destroying marine ecosystems. A study reported that as of 2020, there are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic in our oceans.
The plastic is a problem. It is not simply a problem because it disturbs oceanic wildlife, but because it is the direct effect of our wasteful overuse of plastic. It is a reflection of humanity's unsustainable method of managing waste and is proof of our unwillingness to attempt to reduce the amount of solid waste we produce.
The Marine Conservation Society of the United Kingdom (MCSUK) has been creating petitions advocating for the prevention of microfibers and plastic reaching the ocean.
"The best way to stop the flow of microfibers to our ocean is to fit filters in our washing machines," MCSUK says. The hopes of MCSUK is that all washing machine manufacturers in the United Kingdom will be obliged to design their products with filters by the law by the year 2023.

In Blue Planet, our dream is to show responsibility, represent, and revive. We will grow to be responsible seafood consumers, responsible beachgoers, and responsible plastic users. We will act in representation of the countless marine species that are suffering in polluted waters. Finally, we will contribute to the revival of clean, healthy marine ecosystems.
